My sister told me this, but i dont know what it means, help?

I posted a bulletin on myspace (im 14 years old) not really saying what i would give up for ash wednesday, it was pretty much saying i know what im giving up. and if you know me, then you know what im giving up and i said this on a bulletin

and my sister comments me and says

"you're giving up your self respect right? im right huh? I knew it!"

and i dont know what it means, sadly.

someone please tell me, cause maybe your feeling the same way she does in the situation.
