ok, well i was reading a bulletin posted on myspace and it literally put me to tears. it was about all the animals being tested and things like that but with pictures and things... and now i really want to help. this thing has touched my life majorly now and i dont think i will ever sleep again knowing that some helpless animal is out there being tortured and killed because some thoughtless human has nothing better to do. please, i know it was just a bulletin on myspace, but i dont think i have ever wanted to stop something so bad. please... i just need help and ideas and ways to do something...

I'm right there with you! Been involved in Animal Rights for many, many years. There are a number of very good animal rights groups that you can be involved with. I feel that PETA is a bit extreme as they advocate for everyone to become a vegan which I think alienates many people. IFAW (the International Fund for Animal Welfare) is an excellent group and you may want to check out NRDC (National Defense Resources Council) at:

http://www.nrdcactionfund.org/ as they have petitions and things you can actively do to help. Another excellent site which will provide a bowl of food for an animal for every once a day click on their site is the animal rescue site-you can even make it your home page so you don't forget:

Also you may want to check the Animal Legal Defense Fund for other things you can do regarding stopping product testing. I boycotted Revlon products until they ceased product testing on animals too and writing the companies who continue to do this is always a good idea to protest. You will also want to be certain never to eat veal as the calves are confined in grotestque quarters and pumped full of antibiotics to prevent disease they are prone to because of horrendous living conditions. It does make a difference. I applaud yur compassion and all your efforts-spread the word.

I know that PETA is a very good and well produced organization that works against the inhumane treatment of animals. Yes, they are the ones that stood in front of KFC to try and protest, but they have calmer forms of working. You can make donations (they don't have to be large sums), volunteer, or even work for a PETA organization near or around your town. Visit www.peta.org , and check it out. I am not a member, however I have looked into it.

Join animal liberation groups orother wildlife fund organisations.You could write letters to politicians demanding that that they put a stop to it. Inform family and friends about these atrocities.Buy only products that dont use animals for testing and for other people when buying gifts.You might not feel like your helping but these small things can help.

No you are taking things FAR to literally.

OK now these animal testing houses are severely regulated by government, so they have to take care of the animals.

Also the web sites that you will see by doing a google are going to be highly biassed and extreme themselves, and they will always put across the worst views possible - they do it to prey upon impressionable persons such as yourself.

They will have pictures of the worst cases of animal abuse in rare situations.

You are right to care about animal welfare. But you must be more balanced.

Look after yourself first. Then look after the animals.
