I don't understand something..?

Why do people have kids if their going to abuse them? I just read this bulletin on myspace about a 3 year old getting abused. What makes parents want to do that to their children? It's not the childrens fault their parents couldn't keep their pants zipped, if you know what I mean.

I hate reading the news and seeing that people beat, murder and neglect their children. I totally feel you on this one.

But I don't think that most people have children and plan to abuse them. It just happens. Maybe they're mentally unstable, or using drugs. Maybe life is just too much for them. I don't think these are excuses, but I think that's about all the answer we're ever going to get.

I agree with you. i think that the parents were very young when they had kids and it compleyely wrecked their lives. i saw a video on youtube about a girl who was being abused by her mom, the girl thought that it was a normal thing for her mom to hit her and choke her. In then end the mom ended up saying that it was all her daughters fault for all her problems and that her daughter should not have even been born.Can you imagine how hurtful this would be?

I don't think people have children with the intent of harming them.

If you do some research, a lot of physically abused children grow up in poor communities and families. These families don't have access to therapy, child specialists, or have a higher education. They simply don't know what they are doing, and can't help themselves.

Tax breaks and government money given to people for having children also doesn't help.

Under education in sex makes sure that people who aren't ready for a commitment to babies have them.

I REALLY THINK THATS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG BUT I THINK SOME PEOPLE HAVE KIDS BECAUSE THEY PROBABLY WILL LOVE THEM AT FRIST BUT THEN THEY ABUSE THEM CUZ THEY REMEMBER SOEMTHING FROM THIR CHILDHOOD THIER JUST MEST UP IN THE HEAD

I dont really understand it eather. They must live in a diffrent reality. I cant imagion those girls who drown there kids in the bath tub...its a night mare to me. I love my kids so much not just because there mine. There really not mine, there gods for me to take care of.

Whats really sad is that these childrens lives will be effected for the rest of their lives.

I have a 2 year old and a 2 month old. A few days ago, my 2 month old was screaming for a full hour and my 2 year old was throwing a tantrum and being in a bad mood for that same hour. I had screaming kids for 90 minutes straight. It was just a really bad day.

I could see why some people just snap. Did I snap? No, but I could see why and how some parents could just reach the point to SNAP and abuse their children.

Kids are tough. And unless you've been a parent, it's hard to relate to those parents. Yes there are some parents who are just naturally terrible at parenting, but then there are the rest of the parents who just are at their limit and aren't heard when they call for help.

Especially with little kids, it's tough.

It's no excuse to harm a child, but if you are in a high stress situation and it just keeps getting worse, sometimes that is your ONLY CONTROL. There was a show on this on Lifetime or something--when you become a parent and are sleep deprieved, you'll understand it more. Our first child had colic for 3 months. There comes a point when you are so exhausted and so frustrated that it would be SO easy to shake that baby to make him shut up. Thankfully my husband and I had amazing support and were able to have outside help.

It's no excuse, but when you are driven to the edge it is more than a possibility and solution to the frustration.

There is absolutely no excuse for child abuse, but sometimes the parents themselves grew up in an abusive home and just don't really know different. Sometimes they can't distinguish discipline from abuse because of their own upbringing.

As a sad fact, child abuse sky rocketed when abortion became legal.
