I am having trouble selling a gym membership, any ideas?

I am wanting to sell a 7 month gym membership for $175...but I can't find anybody. I have put up adds on local community bulletin boards, online ads (e.g. Craigslist), local newspaper, have asked people at work...but I can't seem to sell it even though it is about 1/2 of what people would be paying if they purchased it directly through the gym... any suggestions on how I can sell this thing?

What type if gym membership is it? Have you tried Ebay?

start asking people around the gym, and try ebay, is it a big chain like total body fitness? that would be good for ebay.

If it is possible try to offer a seven (7) day free trial. Per chance if an individual can see what the gym access will entail they may be more willing to acquire it.

It might be bacause many gyms now forbid memberships to be resold after. Your membership sold to another might not be valid to whoever bought it from you.

Go to the gym and when you see a new person being show the initial guided tour before they buy,,,,,,, GRAB them and sell yours for half what their about to pay..... lol

Drop your price down to $149.00....Was it a year membership that 5 months were used? Is there restrictions on the membership? What are the features and benefits to being a member of the gym? When you list an ad for sell ..you have to start w/ the features and benefits then end with the price and make your price sound MERE... I successful buy and sell everyday...If all else fells try your local Ebay area.. You are sure to unload it there!
