As a Christian do find it difficult to feel God's closeness at times,what causes this.sin or wh

My question is sincere but i wanted to add this article .

%26gt;THINK ABOUT THIS FOR A MOMENT.

%26gt;

%26gt;North Dakota News

%26gt;This text is from a county emergency manager out in the western part

of

%26gt;North Dakota state after a snowstorm.

%26gt;

%26gt;WEATHER BULLETIN

%26gt;

%26gt;Up here, in the Northern Plains, we just recovered from a Historic

event---

%26gt;may I even say a "Weather Event" of "Biblical Proportions" --- with a

%26gt;historic blizzard of up to 44" inches of snow and winds to 90 MPH that

%26gt;broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds of

%26gt;motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated scores of

%26gt;communities and cut power to 10's of thousands.

%26gt;

%26gt;FYI:

%26gt;

%26gt;George Bush did not come.

%26gt;

%26gt;FEMA did nothing.

%26gt;

%26gt;No one howled for the government.

%26gt;

%26gt;No one blamed the government.

%26gt;

%26gt;No one even uttered an expletive on TV .

%26gt;

%26gt;Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit.

%26gt;

%26gt;Our Mayor did not blame Bush or anyone else.

%26gt;

%26gt;Our Governor did not blame Bush or anyone else, either.

%26gt;

%26gt;CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX or NBC did not visit - or report on this category 5

%26gt;snowstorm. Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards.

%26gt;

%26gt;No one asked for a FEMA Trailer House.

%26gt;

%26gt;No one looted.

%26gt;

%26gt;Nobody - I mean Nobody demanded the government do something.

%26gt;

%26gt;Nobody expected the government to do anything, either.

%26gt;

%26gt;No Larry King, No Bill O'Rielly, No Oprah, No Chris Mathews and No

Geraldo

%26gt;Rivera.

%26gt;

%26gt;No Shaun Penn, No Barbara Striesand, No Hollywood types to be found.

%26gt;

%26gt;Nope, we just melted the snow for water.

%26gt;

%26gt;Sent out caravans of SUV's to pluck people out of snow engulfed cars.

%26gt;

%26gt;The truck drivers pulled people out of snow banks and didn't ask for a

%26gt;penny.

%26gt;

%26gt;Local restaurants made food and the police and fire departments

delivered

%26gt;it to the snowbound families.

%26gt;Families took in the stranded people - total strangers.

%26gt;

%26gt;We fired up wood stoves, broke out coal oil lanterns or Coleman

lanterns.

%26gt;

%26gt;We put on extra layers of clothes because up here it is "Work or Die".

%26gt;

%26gt;We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get us out

of a

%26gt;mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that trades

votes

%26gt;for 'sit-in at home' checks.

%26gt;

%26gt;Even though a Category "5" blizzard of this scale has never fallen

this

%26gt;early, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves.

%26gt;

%26gt;"In my many travels, I have noticed that once one gets north of about

48

%26gt;degrees North Latitude, 90% of the world's social problems evaporate."

%26gt;

%26gt;It does seem that way, at least to me.

%26gt;

%26gt;I hope this gets passed on.

%26gt;

%26gt;Maybe SOME people will get the message. The world does Not owe you a

%26gt;living.

%26gt;

As a Christian do find it difficult to feel God's closeness at times,what causes this.sin or what?

Yes, Sin is a seperation from God. As well as the busy-ness of everyday life. Schedule time to be with Him in prayer everyday. Don't get discouraged. Sometimes there will be times when you don't feel like your going anywhere. As long as your eyes are on God, you will begin moving again. Blessings to you. Merry Christmas

As a Christian do find it difficult to feel God's closeness at times,what causes this.sin or what?

I think it is as simple as forgetting that God is with us and we take our eyes off of Him and then we begin to depend on ourselves. Yeah, I guess you could call it sin. That being the sin of apathy.

I'll tell you one thing, it's a very scary place to be!

As a Christian do find it difficult to feel God's closeness at times,what causes this.sin or what?

Maybe its because was you have been taught is wrong? Yeah Im just throwing that out there

As a Christian do find it difficult to feel God's closeness at times,what causes this.sin or what?

God is, was, and always will be. He is not subject to my feelings. THere are times I don't understand, feel alone in spite of my blessings and family. My difference is I now have hope and knowledge of Him. I keep reading and studying His word, and pray to Him like a friend, God, I don't feel your closeness today but I know your Word says you consider me. Just be yourself, be real. You know we can only live one day at a time :)

As a Christian do find it difficult to feel God's closeness at times,what causes this.sin or what?

Brief moments of rationality...?

I'll say this for the second time: for the North Dakotans to get a little extra snow, then compare themselves with a hurricane that destroyed hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses, and killed nearly a thousand people, is idiotic. Do they really think the hurricane victims could have been saved by a few people going out in SUVs and gathering up stranded people?

As a Christian do find it difficult to feel God's closeness at times,what causes this.sin or what?

God said He would never leave us nor forsake us. Therefore always know He is close---not by feeling Him, but by faith in His Word. See Him at work around you is a form of feeling Him as well...

As a Christian do find it difficult to feel God's closeness at times,what causes this.sin or what?

Being a Christian is NOT about feelings. It is about FAITH and FACTS. It is knowing what you believe, and even on days when you do not FEEL it, your feelings do not change the truth. Emotions go all over the place. The LORD is always the same. If our relationship with God depended on our feelings, we'd be in a lot of trouble!

As a Christian do find it difficult to feel God's closeness at times,what causes this.sin or what?

The article is very laced with derogatory undertones to the Katrina victims.Yes victims,African Americans,mostly in poverty.It was our job as American citizens to be the hands and feet of Jesus during this time,it was a travesty how Americans were treated in the waters of Katrina.Bused to a dome filled with death,children,mothers,fathers,elderly,b... left for dead.If you look at the footage most were African Americans,I am a white person and I am horrified at the treatment of our people.They are my brothers and sisters,God calls us to do some work and love our fellow human beings.Whomever wrote this article is pretty self righteous.Did they help in Katrina or are they now justifying righteousness because they survived snow,were their homes destroyed by water,did they have no water,food,bathroom facilities,watch their families die.Its hardly a appropriate comparison.Your other question,of course I sometimes wonder where God is in trauma,but usually its my feelings that prevent me from recognizing him in the midst.Just because it rains and you cannot see the sun or feel its warmth does not mean it is not behind the clouds.Gods presence is greatest in the storms of our lives he is a good God,who loves his children.Be blessed and loved

As a Christian do find it difficult to feel God's closeness at times,what causes this.sin or what?

Wow! What a GREAT article. I completely agree with that as well. Sorry to offend anyone but we are getting abit soft on survival. Sheesh! Unfortunately I'm guessing that didn't hit a major city right? Anyway, I'm going to forward that article to a couple of my lazy friends as a reminder to get up and get a job, because the world does NOT owe you a living. Good job.

In ref. to your question. "difficult to feel God's closeness" I feel that we might be influenced by wicked or evil thoughts based on evil spirits that are near. Just as good spirits can influence us, so can bad ones. I feel that there is always a struggle of these forces that we feel through our subconscience. Some people react to them, others turn to faith to overcome them. Good luck to you dear person and thank you for this article! You rock. :)
